“God is love, and anyone who doesnβt love others has never known him.”
1st John 4:8 (CEV)
Love is:
patient
kind
always hopeful
endures through every circumstance
Love is not:
jealous
boastful
proud
rude
irritable
Love does not:
demand its own way
rejoice about injustice
Love:
keeps no record of being wronged
rejoices whenever the truth wins out
Love never:
gives up
loses faith
1st Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT)
“Christβs love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” 2nd Corinthians 5:14-15 (NLT)
LORD Jesus, thank You for the wonderful gift of love and life You’ve given me through Your life, death, and resurrection. Please teach me to love others as You love me. I want to be controlled by Your love and not my old sinful nature.
And LORD, would you bless anyone reading this with an extra dose of Your love today? Please make the invisible visible to them. Wrap Your presence around the circumstance of their lives and fill them with Your peace. May Your perfect love cast out every tendril of fear or dread and fill them with a deep abiding trust in You, the Lover of their soul!
Happy Valentine’s Day Sweet Friends!!!

I’m still pulling this thread…
Maybe the heart of each decision is not will I choose Jesus over self, but who is it I want to please? If my answer is Jesus, I’m ultimately pleasing self when I choose Christ over self, right?!
Wow! I feel excited over this. Thank you for pulling threads with me.
The quote was from our Sunday series, Pursuit, this month. Tony McVickers said it during week one ππΌ
You’re welcome! And thank you for sharing your heart and your struggle. I love your quote, “Passionate Pursuit Requires Ongoing Obedience.” Is that yours or someone else’s? (If I ever want to share it, I want to give credit where it’s due.) May you receive and celebrate all the victory promised to those who follow Jesus and yield to Holy Spirit’s indwelling power!

I love 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
Thank you for being an example of how to leave our old life behind and passionately pursue Christ. I’m currently learning that, “Passionate Pursuit Requires Ongoing Obedience.”
The Lord promised me this year that through my obedience He would bring restoration. Well, my flesh is weak! Yesterday I struggled between what my flesh wanted and who my heart wanted to follow. (Christ) Knowing what we should do and actually following through with it are two VERY different things. 2nd Corinthians says Christ’s love controls us and that the old life has died, so we can live our new life for Christ. Well, I am passionately pursuing Christ with intentional ongoing obedience. Thank you for that prayer!! I felt like it was written just for me!
