Times of Trouble

“God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.”
Psalm 46:1 (NLT)

refuge is shelter or protection from danger or distress

strength is the quality or state of being strong : capacity for exertion or endurance

help is to give assistance or support to

help is also to make more pleasant or bearable : improve, relieve

trouble is a state or condition of distress, annoyance, or difficulty

I woke with today’s verse running through my mind. I could think of nothing else, so I’ve shared my word study with you.

So many changes are going on around us. For me, it may be different than it is for you, but in the end of it all…

Change can overwhelm us with trouble if we don’t remember our refuge and strength is in the LORD. As Jesus-followers, we know the One who will help us in those times of trouble. The challenge is whether we will go to Him or seek our own way. He is our support and our perspective changer in times of trouble.

I’m closing with another verse as a prayer for myself and for you.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (NLT)

hope is to expect with confidence : trust

  1. Thank you for sharing your “ word study .” A wonderful reminder to look to our Savior for help and not our own ability to protect ourselves…….Our hope is in Him❣️❣️❣️❣️

  2. Miss you too! Thank you for asking about Momma. She comes home from rehab tomorrow. Prayers appreciated as she moves more fully into this new season of living life without Daddy. May we both run with endurance the race set before us; keeping our eyes on Jesus so we will not become weary and give up. Prayers for you and yours.
